One Day Exhibition

Dunya Atay, Kerem Durukan and Ece Gokalp (together with added artists for each exhibition), being part of today's "live fast, consume fast" society, created a series of performance-exhibitions in order to bring in a "produce fast & share it" model and will be curiously waiting to see the outcomes of this interaction and their results.

The first one of these exhibitions, One Day Exhibition, which is composed of Dünya Atay, Ece Gökalp, Kerem Durukan, Shirin Botas, Sinem Yıldırım and Yılmaz Sen, will be held on the 20th of June with the support of Play Studio. In accordance with the exhibition’s concept, the production will start at 12:00 in the exhibition space and will be finished before the opening. Artists will be producing throughout the day. The opening will be at 18:00 with Dünya Atay, Ece Gökalp and Kerem Durukan’s drawing performance on wall. Along with the personal works, the collective works that project the nature of the concept will be produced and all of these -which are shared with the visitors who can be involved in the exhibition area anytime they want- will be finished at 20:30.

“One Day Exhibition” is an event which is the basis of the upcoming projects, which fosters production and aims a live performance atmosphere. Thereby the viewer and the artist come together, gather up, stand next to each other and communicate.

BOYADILAR!

They Painted !

18 December 2009,

6:30pm

The skatepark built by a group of skateboarders in a warehouse placed in Beşiktaş˛ was painted by street artists during 15-18th of December under the sponsorship of Akçalı Boya. We are welcoming everyone who is willing to see the final work of the artists to 720 Adrenaline Skate Park on 18th of December 2009 in support of Carlsberg.

In parallel with the globalized world and increased interaction in between; the “Street Culture” which resulted from the subcultures of DIY(Do it Yourself) such as skateboarding, art, fashion, dance and music has become an iconic concept which changes the direction of popular culture in time. As being an expression of this era, street art includes every mode of art however it referrers to a rebellious act against the government and the oppositions accordingly. Street art is unendingly a way of outrage which has at the same time become a popular concept for the art galleries. Skateboarding is a branch of this outrage. Skateboarding at the first stage, seems like a sport on done on a board and has different challenges with respect to the tricks people choose to show. But if one goes in detail, skateboarding is actually a daily ritual where people metaphorically fly on the decks and show extreme control of their bodily resistances.

On this behalf, 720 Adrenaline Skate Park has been opened aiming to combine the street art in Turkey with the young upcoming artists performing DIY and skateboarding. This event will be a visual fest for everyone by the organization of Moustache Productions and support of Bohemian Art.

Hayır ben öldürdüm!/// No it was me!

Piyasa(!)nın dışında özerk bir sergi alanı oluşturmak; pazar(!)a çıkmadan, satışa çıkarmadan gün ışığına çıkmak_ çıkabilmek adına, buradayız!

No, it was me!
No, it was me! – an interdisciplinary, mixed exhibition from young artists from Turkey and abroad

We don´t know how it started, we also don´t know why- but suddenly out of nothing, there was a group. A group of people that are willing to say: No, it was me! in order to protect the others, the rest of the group. Its not that we are friends or we know each other very well or we share the same aesthetics, but still there must be something that somehow relates us, something we might have in common. What this is, we can not say, what it will be like, we can not know, what will emerge from it, we have no idea...

But still there is a group, 25 artists from different socio-cultural backgrounds, societies and astethics working with different medias such as painting, photography, sculpture, short film, installtion etc., who want to share their works with a public that is willing to find out, what this all is about, although we ourselves don´t really know....
